Neroli is the name for the flowers of the bitter orange tree, a citrus plant grown in Sicily, North Africa and Egypt. Three different oils can be extracted from this tree: Neroli oil from the blossoms, petitgrain oil from the leaves and an oil from the fruit peels. Neroli is a valued ingredient in perfumes and is also used in natural medicine to treat skin complaints and nervous stress. It is often used for anxiety, depression, nervousness, hysteria, menopausal symptoms and dermatitis.
