The essential oil Sandalwood Indian organic (bot. Santalum Album) smells woody, warm and balsamic, it has a balancing, inspiring, skin regenerating and anti-itching effect. Its extraordinary and intense fragrance promotes inspiration and fires the imagination. For a typical sandalwood note, often only a touch of the essential oil is needed. The sparing use of the oil makes sense from an ecological point of view and for cost reasons. Primavera sources the oil from an organic plantation in India.
Sandalwood is a tree with aromatic wood and roots native to India and Indonesia. The evergreen tree grows almost up to 5 meters high and blooms in the months of March, April, September and October. It absorbs its nutrients through the roots of other trees, grows mainly wild and is therefore difficult to cultivate. Meanwhile, there are controlled-biological plantations in the areas of origin.
The sandalwood tree is an endangered plant, threatened with extinction. Therefore, a careful and sustainable treatment of these trees is essential if we want to both conserve the earth's resources and use the power of the essential oils. The sandalwood trees for our sandalwood oil grow on plantations in a controlled organic cultivation area. Individual branches are carefully and gently removed piece by piece and new trees are planted on a regular basis.
Because of its comparable ingredient composition, New Caledonian organic sandalwood can be used as a substitute. The scent is slightly fresher and less warm than sandalwood Indian organic.
